If you
are interested in performing at The Red Shoe
Restaurant, please contact our Talent Coordinator,
Kevin, at (404) 377-5656. He will schedule auditions
and performances. The Red Shoe Restaurant is
looking for performers for various nights.
For Thursday nights, we are looking for
people who perform spoken word and comedy. Open mic is
also available.
For
Friday nights, we are seeking Blues Bands with a
vocalist. Because of the size of the stage, we would
prefer no more than five members in a band. Friday
nights will also include R&B and Jazz Fusion. Some
examples of the type of R&B that we seek are: Otis
Redding, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, etc.
As for Blues, some examples of the type of sound we
prefer include: BB King, Big Joe Turner, Big Mama
Thornton, John Lee Hooker, Keb Moe, etc.
Saturday nights are reserved for smooth
jazz, and easy listening infused with some soulful R&B.
We are partial to the type of music performed by Miles
Davis, John Coltrane, Sarah Vaughn, Anita Baker, Billie
Holiday, Wes Montgomery, Marion Meadows, etc. In other
words, we like jazz ranging from the 1950s to present
day.
The Red Shoe Restaurant has already
hosted an outstanding band by the name of Khat Phuud,
pronounced Cat Food. The band is lead by a talented
artist named Daniel, who arranges, composes, writes and
sings. He has fused jazz and R&B to create a sound for
the 21st Century. Other outstanding bands
that have performed thus far include, Hudson on Base
and Jazz by Moonlight. Jazz by Moonlight
is an excellent group of musicians featuring vocalist,
Terri Carol. The Red Shoe has also hosted the
Brother Walie trio, a group of flutists, and Rene
Jones, whose sound has been compared to that of Anita
Baker. If you like Blues, you will love the SANA
Blues Band, featuring Sandra Foster on vocals and
guitar. She does an excellent rendition of Big Mama
Thornton’s “Hound Dog,” not the Elvis Presley version.
Among The Red Shoe’s wide range of performers, is
electric violinist, Delores Majors. Majors performs,
both, Jazz and Blues.
Feel
free to call for an audition so that you can be on the
list of stellar performances at The Red Shoe. We
welcome you to join us, whether to entertain, or be
entertained. Put on your red dress, red shoes and come
out Friday and Saturday nights to enjoy the cozy
atmosphere of The Red Shoe Restaurant. “Food and
music, the enjoyment of life.” The Red Shoe
Restaurant provides music and food for the soulful.
